WALLPAPER: The People We Love (Orphan Black)

Sarah Manning & Beth Childs

I made a new Orphan Black wallpaper before the holidays and keep forgetting to post it. I love this quote from Beth in the dream sequence in s3. It’s one of my favorite scenes from the whole series. I’ve always wanted to make a wallpaper of it, but didn’t really have high quality images, so once I saw this episode still from the pilot of Sarah standing on that train platform, I knew I wanted to take it back to the first-ever scene of the show, one of the best I’ve seen. It hooks you like nothing else, even if you’re a little lost at first, kind of like Sarah. After the past season, I’m can say that Beth is one of my favorite clones. We only get small glimpses of her in the first 3, but I’m so glad they finally rewound the timeline and gave her her due.

I used to make a separate page for a TV show once I hit 5 wallpapers, but now that I’ve split the Other TV page into two sections, that doesn’t seem so necessary. Let the new number be 7!

Next: Honestly there’s no telling anymore. And I’m not sure if I’ll squeeze one in before the new year, but it’s possible. I do really want to make ones for Nashville and Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events with the new promo pics before their respective premieres. So I suppose that’s my first priority.

WALLPAPER: Arctic (Orphan Black)

orphan-black-wallpaper-5-500

I had no intention of making two different wallpapers for this final scene from season 3 of Orphan Black, but it was the only thing I could think of that remotely fit the Arctic Ocean location I needed for the Atlas series. So here we go again. Instead of making this one just about Sarah & Kira, I wanted to add in Kendall and Siobhan as well. The dynamic between these four generations of women is full of so many possibilities. Unfortunately, one of the big issues the show experienced in s4 was attempting to juggle the lives of far too many characters. You just can’t do them all justice in such a short period. I decided to try something new design-wise in this wallpaper. I’m not sure if it was very successful, but I do love the colors.

An alternate version can be found here.

Next: All is Lost (Robert Redford film), Life Unexpected, Girl Meets World. I think I might be taking a break after that. I’ve already accomplished my goal of making 52 wallpapers this year, and I’m going to be very busy the next couple of months. I’m also trying to finish a couple fanfics.

WALLPAPER: What Could & Could Not Be (Orphan Black)

Desktop wallpaper featuring Beth & Art from Orphan Black

It’s just like me to start shipping a couple where one individual is dead and has been dead since the opening minutes of the pilot some three years ago. I mean, I seriously do have a talent for gravitating towards pairings that are completely doomed! Usually I’m well aware that they’re doomed when I fall in love with them, so I suppose I have only myself to blame. In season 1, Art is somewhat of an antagonist. I wasn’t sure whether to like him or not. These days I feel so bad for him every time he’s on screen, knowing that he was in love with Beth (and aside from that one night, never had her) and now she’s dead but he is constantly surrounded by all these girls who look exactly like her. But isn’t it great how Tatiana just has fantastic chemistry with pretty much all her co-stars?

I’ve challenged myself to make 52 wallpapers this year. This is #30, assuming I counted correctly.

Next: Gossip Girl, Nashville, Breaking Bad, One Tree Hill, maybe more Orphan Black.

WALLPAPER: Hi, Monkey (Orphan Black)

Desktop wallpaper featuring Sarah & Kira from Orphan Black

One more week till the new season of Orphan Black! Much like Bates Motel, I thought the show went a bit off the rails in season 2, but season 3 was incredible, particularly the second half. That one scene where Sarah has a vision of herself talking to Beth in the kitchen is simply otherworldly and beautiful. So is this last scene of the season finale where Sarah finally reunites with Kira, and they have this mother-daughter moment in the snow. I thought it would be a really nice scene to use in this wallpaper as we head into the new season. Sarah has never been my favorite clone (that would be Helena) and is not really as intriguing as her sestras, but her relationships with her daughter and with Mrs. S are easily some of the best parts of the show. As for the 4th season, I’m not sure what to expect, but the creators have said that Krystal will have a much bigger role, and that’s pretty much all I need to hear because I love her. I really hope she’ll be inducted into the Clone Club this year.

Next: The usual suspects…Better Call Saul, Bates Motel, Nashville, Fargo.

WALLPAPER: Who Am I? (Orphan Black)

Surprisingly, two seasons of Orphan Black have come and gone, but this is my first wallpaper for the series. I guess I was just never inspired by the promo shoots, but the other day I saw this stock image & the whole thing came together. I hope there will be more wallpapers from me for this amazing show and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for season 3.

I’m also working on new wallpapers for Fringe, The Killing, the movie Gattaca, and a couple more of Meryl/Maks (DWTS) because there have been a wealth of new photos lately and I just can’t help myself. 😉
